Born in Bryan, Texas to Linda (Restivo) Cash and Leon Frank Cash, Sr., Leon grew up in the warmth and care of the Cash/Restivo/Varisco families.
At an early age, his lifelong love of the cattle business and country living began by helping his father on their Brazos bottom farm and at the Caldwell Livestock Auction Barn. He graduated from Bryan High School (’81) during which he was active in the Future Farmers of America and worked at Cash Grocery on the weekends. He then attended Texas A&M University where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics in 1985.
Leon embodied the values of hard work and integrity throughout his career as a cattle rancher. He was a lifelong member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and had a deep devotion to his faith and God’s promises of Eternal Life.
Leon was also known for his remarkable personality and humor. He never met a stranger and enjoyed countless conversations with his good friends and family. He was an avid football fan especially of Texas A&M and the Dallas Cowboys.
Leon remains a blessing to all who knew him. His devotion to his family will leave a lasting impact. In Christ, he is made whole, free from pain, and now running cattle on the greenest pastures one could imagine.
