Funeral service will be held Wednesday October 19 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Interment will follow at New Church Cemetery in Edge. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4-6 p.m. and family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. Wednesday until the time of service at the funeral home.
After graduating from high school, Loren took part like every American during WWII to help in the war effort. He worked at an airplane bomber plant in Ft. Worth. Later, Loren managed the Duke & Ayers stores in the mid-west and Texas for 30 years until the store went out of business. He and his wife then decided to open their own business, Lowila Varity and Gifts store in Crockett. Loren was a member and ministered in the Church of Christ.
Loren is preceded in death by his parents, sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Harold Gentry, and his half brother, Oren Fitzhugh.
He is survived by his wife, Eva Wilda Fitzhugh of Bryan; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
