Margaret Luna Serrato

Margaret “Bearby” Luna Serrato, 74, passed away Thursday May 9, at St. Joseph Regional Health Center.

Family will begin receiving loved ones for visitation at 9:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 10:00 am Wednesday May 15 at the church with Msgr. John McCaffrey officiating. Inurnment will follow at Msgr. Gleissner Mausoleum.

Margaret was born January 31, 1945, in Bryan, Texas, the daughter of Luis and Sophia (Cortez) Luna. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin High School, Margaret attended beauty school and became a licensed beautician. Along with her sister Eloise, Luna’s Beauty Shop opened in early 1974 and remained open until 1997. Margaret spent the next few years working for a variety of local beauty shops until she retired.

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Sophia Luna; and sister, Dora Luna.

She is survived by her three sisters, Gloria Luna, Teresa Garrett, and Eloise Carrillo and her husband Roberto; two brothers, Ernest Luna and his wife Alice, Eddie Luna and his wife Charlene; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Joseph’s Catholic School.
