Maritza Medrano De Barron

Maritza Medrano De Barron, aged 64, was born on May 5, 1959, and gained her wings on January 27,2024 just after midnight at St. Joseph Regional Hospital. She was born in Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas and was the second to youngest of 10 children to her mother Juana Arreola De Medrano and Father Emiliano Medrano Ramirez. She was a resident of Bryan, TX and a proud BISD employee of Henderson Elementary school for 16 plus years. Her job was her passion and she absolutely loved waking up each morning to serve and be there for her students and the staff. She had a wild, loving spirit and loved traveling. She also enjoyed cooking and dancing but her favorite thing to do was spending time with her sisters and friends.

Maritza was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Daniel Medrano and (Tio) Emiliano Medrano. She was survived by her two daughters Nancy and Randy Suniga of Bryan, and Leticia and Chris Ford of Bryan. She is also survived by her sisters Maria Medrano of Saltillo, Coahuila, and Paloma Medrano of Saltillo, Coahuila, Olivia Medrano of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Enriqueta Gamez of Nuevo Laredo, Tamaulipas, Frances Salinas of Middletown, New York, Bertha and Arturo Sosa of San Antonio, Tx and her twin sister Maricela and Ector Martinez of Hearne, TX. Eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and multiple nieces and nephews, cousins and treasured friends.

Her love will live on in our loving memories.

A visitation for Maritza will be held Friday, February 2, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1515 South College Avenue, Bryan, Texas 77801. A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Memorial Funeral Chapel.
