

Mary Helen Lapaglia, 70, of Bryan crossed over the rainbow on May 13, 2014. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Friday, May 16, 2014 at Christ the Good Shepherd Chapel, with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00, a.m., Saturday, May 17, 2014 at Christ the Good Shepherd Chapel, with Reverend Monsignor John A. McCaffrey as Celebrant.
Mary Helen was born July 16, 1943 in Weimer, Texas the daughter of Marvin and Leona (Kasper) Gilbreath. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and especially enjoyed attending Mass at Christ the Good Shepherd Chapel. Her greatest loves were her family, cooking and writing; she was the author of three cookbooks.
Mary Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Leona Gilbreath and a sister, Jane Gilbreath Matthews.
Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Patrick Lapaglia; children, Angela Foreman, Toni Bruner & her husband Homer Lee Bruner, Jr., John Patrick Lapaglia, Mary Jane Lapaglia, and Patti Leigh Mitchell; brothers, Dixon Gilbreath & his wife Kay, John Gilbreath & his wife Sue, and Marvin Frank Gilbreath & his wife Anna; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Dana, Mickey, Sonia, Janis, and Bruce at Compassionate Care Hospice for the care that Mary Helen received from them.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Lung Association or Compassionate Care Hospice.
