Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 3 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Internment will follow at Memorial Cemetery of College Station. Visitation will be from 5 – 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Mary was born May 12, 1940 in Elk City, Oklahoma the daughter of James W.L. and Maudie N. (Snowden) Cupp. After graduating from high school, she married Don McPherron on April 30, 1962. Mary worked many different jobs, but mostly enjoyed taking care of her family. She was Methodist faith and attended Wesley United Methodist Church.
Mary enjoyed volunteering with (SIRE) an equine therapy. Her hobbies included; miniature horses, cooking, floral design, pencil etching, oil painting and listening to country and western, and rock and roll music.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents; and three brothers, Orman, Norman and Donald Cupp.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Don McPherron of Bryan; daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Raymond Altenburger of Oxford, GA; son, Timothy McPherron of Round Rock; sister, Dovie Wilson of Sayer, OK; brother, Floyd Cupp of Forsyth, MO; five grandchildren, Ashley Eddings, Samantha Chavez, Taylor McPherron, Leigh Danziger and Ed Altenburger.
