Mary Oweda Thomas, 86, of Bryan, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at St. Joseph Regional Health Center in Bryan. A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 A.M., Monday, May 26, 2014 at Bryan City Cemetery.
Mary was born September 19, 1927 in Gainesville, Texas, the daughter of Daisy (Cupp) and Wayne Desmond Payne. She married Wayne Foster Thomas in 1947 and together they raised four sons. Mary was a member of Christ’s Way Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her step-mother, Carrie Payne; two sons, Wayne F. Thomas, Jr. and Ronald L. Thomas.
Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Wayne F. Thomas; two sons, Lyndon P. Thomas and his wife Karen, Terry D. Thomas; two brothers, Thomas A. Payne, Desmond W. Payne; five granddaughters, Tracy Thomas, Shelly Shank, Lori Eubanks, Leanne Thomas, Lyndi Thomas; and six great grandchildren.
