Funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 23 at Snook Brethren Church with Reverend Joseph Polasek officiating. Interment will follow at Snook Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 – 8 p.m. Friday at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Milady was born August 17, 1928 the daughter of John E. and Amalie (Ptacek) Sobotik in Frenstat, Texas. She attended the Frenstat School, and was baptized and confirmed at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. When she was old enough, she left home to work in Brenham, then later in College Station. She made many friends and enjoyed going to dances. It was at a dance that she met Raymond Janac, whom she later fell in love with. On March 19, 1949 Milady and Raymond were married at the home of Reverend Henry Beseda, Sr. in Caldwell. They were blessed with four children and lived in Bryan.
Milady was a homemaker, but also worked various jobs outside the home after the youngest child was in school. In 1965 the family moved to Snook and started attending Snook Brethren Church. After two years, the family ended up moving to College Station but still continued attending Snook Brethren Church.
Milady and Raymond always took the family each year on vacations. After the children became adults; Milady and Raymond traveled to various destinations, usually by car. Milady did enjoy the café’s on the trips and always brought souvenirs for the family. Milady mostly enjoyed family gatherings. Going to church with family and eating out together afterwards was a tradition. Family and living a Christian life was always a priority.
Milady and Raymond enjoyed 56 years of marriage, until Raymond’s death in 2005. She is also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Ernest, Clem and John Sobotik; sisters, Rosie Kacer, Martha Leggett and Bernice Ainsworth; and a grandson, Stephen Novacek.
She is survived by her sister, Mary Ann Bayzik; sons, Larry Janac, Maurice Janac and wife Connie; daughters, Laura Hughes and husband Jonathan, Beverly Novacek and husband LeRay; grandchildren, David Hughes and wife Alicia, Michael Novacek and wife Angela, Matthew Janac and wife Delilah, Elizabeth Ridgway and husband Joey; great-grandchildren, Blake and Chase Hughes, Emmett and Maddox Janac, Emily and Bruce Novacek.
At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Snook Brethren Church or HUS Encampment.
