

Moisses M. Alvarez , age 89 years old born September 4th 1934 of Chriesman ,TX he was one of six children born to Bartolo Álvarez and Narcisa (Maldonado) Alvarez passed away peacefully at home with family by his side on December 28, 2023.
As a young boy Moisses worked very hard in the fields from sun up to sun down. This is where he learned his work ethic. Moisses then worked at Texas A&M as a young man and then met the love of his life Susie Vaca Alvarez.
Moisses and Susie were married March 1, 1951 they then moved to Saginaw Michigan where they would later welcomed and raised their four sons. When Susie passed in 1986 they had been married for 34 years.
He retired from General Motors Saginaw Grey Iron after 30 years of service in 1979. He loved to work on cars. He was very proud of his 1959 Buick Invicta 2 Tone with Blue and White that he had special ordered.
Moisses was a devoted Christian and enjoyed speaking the word of GOD. He later met Josie Martinez Alvarez and they were married for 29 years. Through their journey together they served the community through the Gospel and charitable giving.
He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and Loved spending time with his family. Moisses would always give everyone words of wisdom and advice.
He was also known for giving landmarks especially when he traveled. He would still refer to gas stations as “filling stations”. Moisses would pray over vehicles before leaving for safe travels.
Moisses left a lasting impression with everyone he met. He was also the type of man that treated everyone equally. From the janitor to the president of a company he gave them all the upmost respect. He would shake your hand and say “God bless you”.
Moisses was predeceased by his Father Bartolo Álvarez and Mother Narcisa Maldonado Álvarez along with his wife Susie Alvarez and wife Rev. Josie Álvarez and his siblings Frank, Francisca, Valentin, Juan and little sister Mary.
Surviving him are his sons Phil (Frances) Alvarez of Fort Worth, Moses (Ruth) Alvarez of Bryan TX , Richard (Joann) Álvarez of Bay City MI and his youngest child Daniel (Irene ) Álvarez of Arlington TX.
11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Several Nieces and Nephews.
The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to his niece Vera Vega and Granddaughter Susie Alvarez-Rivera for their kindness, support and care shown to Moisses during his last years.
Officiating his services will be Dr. Brenda Rocha, stepdaughter.
A visitation for Moisses will be held Saturday, January 6, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1515 South College Avenue, Bryan, Texas 77801, followed by a funeral service at 11:30 AM.
