

A son of the late Otis Gaither and Nannie Mae Gaither, he was born on December 19, 1939 in Talladega,, Alabama. He proudly served his county for 4 years in the United States Navy and 2 years in the Alabama National Guard. His professional career started as a tool grinder for 7 years at Solar Aircraft in San Diego California. He moved to Houston Texas in 1964. He went to work at Reed Tool Company that spanned 36 years. His last position was Manager Production Support. While at Reed, he was awarded 4 patents for designing new drill bit processes.
He was a Christian by Baptist faith. He retired to Talladega, Alabama in 1999, his birth place until February 2022, where he moved back to Texas due to health problems. On April 18, 1957, he married Edwina Wrobel who survives. They were married for 65 years. Also surviving one son, Timothy Paul Gaither and his wife Linda. Daughters, Doreen Gaither Stringer and her husband Robert Wayne Stringer: Donna Gaither Stephenson and her husband Randy Stephenson. Five grandchildren: Jimmy Earl Woodard III, Timothy Charles Woodard, Samuel Paul Curtis, Mary Elizabeth Curtis and Alexander Timothy Gaither. Three great grandchildren, Haidyn Woodard and Bennett Curtis. And Merrit Graves; two living sister Nettie Studdard and Lil Dobbs, 2 deceased sisters Lora Mae Gaither and Emma Jean Barnes. Also, two living brothers, Louie Gaither and Talmage Gaither, two deceased brothers, Clyde Gaither and William Gaither. A host of nieces, nephews and friends.
A Memorial Military Service will be at Montevallo Alabama National Cemetery. On Monday, March 13, 2023, at 10:15 a.m.
