Ronald Phillip "Coach" Fontenot

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 22 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan. Entombment will follow at Msgr. Gleissner Mausoleum. A reception will follow the entombment at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 p.m. Saturday with a rosary service at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ronnie “Coach” was born September 10, 1937 in Beaumont the son of Harry and Mattie Fonetnot. He was married to Phyllis Grizzaffi and together they raised three sons. Mr. Fontenot was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. Ronnie coached football at Allen Academy for ten years. He was a true sports enthusiast.

Ronnie was a kind generous Christian whose faith in God and the love for his family were the most important things in his life.

Mr. Fontenot is preceded in death by his parents; and his wife, Phyllis Fontenot.

Survivors include his three sons, Michael J. Fontenot and his wife Emi, Kenneth G. Fontenot and Rodney C. Fontenot; sister and brother-in-law, Sandy and Tommy Trahan; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ralph and Leona Morgan; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.
