Rose Marie (Vitopil) Krupa passed away peacefully on August 9, 2025, at the age of 95. She was born on September 23, 1929, in Bryan, Texas, to Christina and Pete Vitopil. A lifelong Texan and devout Catholic, Rose lived a life deeply rooted in faith, family, and service to others.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank J. Krupa; her parents, Christina and Pete Vitopil; her sister, Patricia Muzny, and brother-in-law, Milton Muzny; and her daughter-in-law, Donna South-Krupa.
Rose is survived by her three sons: Frank J. Krupa, David Krupa and his wife Mary, and Kevin Krupa. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Jennifer McKallip and her husband John, Nicholas Krupa and his wife Jennifer, and Cheri Hill and her husband Allan. Her legacy lives on through her great-grandchildren: Master Reid McKallip, Miss Parker McKallip, and her newest great-granddaughter and namesake, Haisley Rose.
Rose and Frank loved to dance—she often said, “We danced around the world twice.” She was an avid outdoorswoman who found great joy in hunting, fishing, and tending to her yard. A gifted quilter, her handmade quilts became treasured keepsakes for all who received them.
Affectionately known as the “Bag Lady,” Rose had a unique and thoughtful hobby: recycling plastic grocery bags by crocheting them into tote bags, coasters, and rugs. She generously donated these creations to fundraisers, nursing homes, and hospital patients—sharing her creativity and care with many.
Her kitchen was always a warm and welcoming place, filled with the scent of her famous icebox cookies (there was always a full tin) and her signature stuffed jalapeños, both beloved by family and friends.
