

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 30 at Santa Teresa Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Rest-Ever Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m. Sunday with a rosary service at 7:00 p.m. at Memorial Funeral Chapel in Bryan.
Rosie was born September 1, 1942 in Wheelock the daughter of Manuel Sr. and Simona (Perales) Portales. She was raised in Bryan where she lived all of her life. Rosie graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1960. After high school she attended Nursing School. Rosie was employed with St. Joseph Hospital, and retired after 38 years of service. She loved to play Bingo, scratch off lottery tickets and going to the casino. Rosie loved watching sports, her favorite teams were, the Houston Astros, San Antonio Spurs, Dallas Cowboys and Texas A&M Aggie football. She was a member of Santa Teresa Catholic Church.
Rosie is preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Joe Patrick Hernandez.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Joe Hernandez Jr; son, Jason Hernandez and fiancé Gina Bosquez; brothers, Ray Portales and Manuel Portales Jr; sister, Nora Portales; brother-in-law, Sam Rosas; grandchildren, Laynie Hernandez Mike Rosas, Catherine Rosas, Adrian J. Tirrafria, Meghan Carrillo, A.J. Carrillo and Gracelyn Carrillo; two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
