

Sam was born in Houston, Tx in 1934, graduated from St. Thomas High School and attended the University of Houston. Sam loved to watch sports even participated as a coach in his son’s little league when he was younger. He was a fourth-degree member of the Knights of Columbus and loved to cook for the organization. He was a past President of the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce and was involved in many other service-related activities throughout his lifetime.
Sam was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence A. Scardino and Josephine Sarao; Sister, Katherine Scardino-DeGeorge and brother Joseph J. Scardino.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Bennie L. Marino-Scardino of Bryan, TX; Sister, Anne Scardino of Little Rock, Arkansas; Son, Gary L. Scardino and wife Betty of Carmine, TX; Son, Michael L. Scardino and wife Molly of Weimar, TX; Daughter, Lori J. Scardino-Brecko and husband Brad of Katy, TX. He had 10 grandchildren: Heather Scardino-Oakley, Anthony Scardino, Kevin Scardino, Stacy Scardino-Leissner, Kurt Scardino, Kolby Scardino, Brandon Mitchell, Matthew Mitchell, Kyle Wendt and Kaitlyn Wendt; along with 5 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Bryan on Friday, July 23 at 11:00 a.m.
