Stephen L. Pearce

November 25, 1950September 29, 2019

Stephen Lamar Pearce, 68, of Bryan went to be with the Lord on September 29, 2019.

A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Saturday, October 5, 2019 at 11:30AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Graveside service and interment to follow at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.

Stephen was born to Stephen D. and Mable (Rawls) Pearce on November 25, 1950. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend.

He graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 1969. In 1972, he enlisted in the US Army serving in Germany where he developed a love for traveling. After his time in the service he advanced his education at Texas A&M University where he received a B.S. in Industrial Technology in 1978, an M.B.A in 1985, and a Ph.D in 1995.

Stephen worked for over 11 years at TAMU in many capacities. After retiring from the university, he began a successful career as a consultant and speaker specializing in inventory management and industrial distribution. Later Stephen started his own software development firm which created computer-based solutions for problems facing industrial distribution companies and wholesalers.

Stephen married Rhonda Greig in 1982 and began a wonderful and adventurous 37 years of marriage. Stephen’s greatest joy was raising his sons - the oldest being Josh. Leo, Adrien, Hoyko, Matthias, and Clement came into his life as foreign exchange students. He loved being a mentor to these young men and developed a special bond with each. Stephen also traveled extensively, enjoyed flying and competitive shooting, and had a great love for new adventures.

Stephen is preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Joshua D. Gray.

Stephen is survived by his wife Rhonda D. (Greig) Pearce; his sons, Leander (Leo) Schlicht, Adrien Kehlstadt, Hoyko Herlyn, Matthias Ibach and Clement Gregoire; his brother Richard Pearce and wife DeDe; and his aunt, Joan (Rawls) Martin. He is also survived by many loving cousins, in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of longtime friends.

I have met Stephen 2-3 times when he visited his team at Clarion in India. We used to go our for lunch or dinner together with the teams. He was a very passionate and earnest person, ready to advice or help anyone who needs it.

He had wealth of experience in all walks of life and technology.

I will always remember him.

Dear Nana & Family,

I am Niranjan, ex-Team Leader of Xtivity team in Pune.

I feel fortunate that I had an opportunity to work with Stephen. He was my favorite client. He was keen about every detail in work. He never complained but suggested improvements. I admired his intelligence and agility in thinking.

As a person he was a true gentleman. He was interested in the well being of everyone in his team. In his visits to India, he took out time to meet our family members, talked to them and also offered toys as gifts to our kids. I still use the winter cap he gifted me. We both used to talk for hours about the aeroplanes, machines, his travel experiences, his sons and about you Nana. His life is an inspiration for me.

I was shocked and deeply saddened when I heard about Stephen. May his soul rest in peace. May God give you courage and strength to survive without him. My prayers are with you in these difficult times.

Dear Nana,

I am Sonam Chauhan. I was a member of Xtivity Pune Team. I left Clarion just two months back.
For few days in my new job I badly missed our calls with Stephen and team. He was one of the few who liked details of every minute thing in his project. I learnt how to be perfectionist from him. M still learning.
I can not believe that it was his last trip to India. I was meeting in person with him for the first time and I was little nervous. But the minute I met him, he made it all very simple. I just loved working with him. Even my family loved his friendly behaviour.

He always had a huge importance for family and specially You. We always sensed that immense respect for you in him.
Nana, we have never met each other but I know you through him and our conversations. It is so tough to belive that he is not with us. I am truly sorry for this loss. He will be there in our memories forever.

May his soul rest in peace.
Take care Nana.

Once, Stephen has asked me to draw a Mehndi on his Hand with Nana’s Name, to express his love for you Nana!
