Graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 3 at Bryan City Cemetery.
Wayne was born October 1, 1924 in Cameron the son of James Lee and Clara Ruth (Porter) Thomas. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Mary Oweda Payne in 1947 and together they raised four sons. Wayne was a member of Christ Way Baptist Church where he also served as music director.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary Oweda Thomas; two sons, Wayne F. Thomas, Jr. and Ronald L. Thomas; one brother and one sister.
He is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Lyndon P. and Karen Thomas and Terry D. Thomas; sister, Ruth Martin; grandchildren, Tracy Thomas, Shelly Shank, Lori Eubanks, Leanne Thomas and Lyndi Thomas; and seven great-grandchildren.
