Grams, I've always told you words and actions can never express how much I love you and that's the truth. Not many people have the opportunity to have a relationship with their grandparents and I was beyond lucky to have the special relationship I had with you. In my eyes anyone who had the opportunity to know you was lucky and I am honored and proud to call you my grandma.
I've known that this day would eventually come, but always feared it. Every holiday and birthday all I wanted and wished for was that you and gramps would be around for the next. As you started getting sick wishing for you to be here for the next holiday began to be wishes for one more good day. It was so hard to watch you go through it but you handled it like a good sport, as you would say. You truly are the strongest woman I knew. Till your dying day you laughed, smiled, joked and was sharp both with your tongue and you looks (hot chick).
You warned me that you had less than a week left and the day before you gave me many clues it wouldn't be much longer. As weird as it sounds I am happy you did it just proves to me how much you cherished our relationship as well (even though I knew how much you did I will always love getting proof of it).
When you passed I couldn't leave your side. I know you were probably thinking I was crazy trying to keep your body warm, but I couldn't let go of your hand and brake away.
You were more than a Grandma to me, you were my best friend, the one I could tell anything to, laugh with, cry with and be my stress reliever.
You use to always say you wanted to see me get married and I am sorry I didn't achieve that for you. You would always gave me a hard time about it and I would tell you when I find a man like yours I will, but the chances of that happening are slim because they don't make them like gramps anymore and you agreed. Gramps did everything he possibly could for you from day one and you would be happy to know that it is still all about Loretta. The love you guys have for one another is something that is rare and will always be cherished and valued.
You asked me a couple weeks ago, what I was going to do without my grams, my partner in crime, I couldn't answer because I truly didn't know and I still don't know what to do. I feel completely lost, empty and sick without you. I know I've told you that when the day comes and I don't have you physically with me you will always be there mentally with me and that's the truth, but it's just not the same.
I cherish all the memories I have with you and God theres many, whether it's the sleepovers where grandpa would wake up at 2:00am and tell us we are too loud because we were laughing to loud, or sitting at the table as I got older talking girl talk, shopping together and being inseparable.
Our bond was unreal and we were on the same wavelength and I pray that never changes. You and gramps will ALWAYS be my heart and weakness. When you passed, a part of me also passed. You have taught me so much in life and about life. I could go on forever. You are an incredible woman and I will ALWAYS love you and you will forever be a part of me. I can't wait to see you again, but if you could do me one favor and give gramps a kiss goodnight and let us know you are okay. Love you forever and always.

The loss of a loved one can seem unbearable. Our Heavenly Father has promised to restore life to those who have died. May your loving memories help you to endure the days ahead. My condolences to the family.

I was sorry to read that Loretta had passed away recently. She was a faithful and generous volunteer for my Outreach Program at Nativity of Our Lord. May she receive her reward and rest in peace.
