Gloria Jean Tousley

When Gloria was four, the family decided to move to California for a better life. By age 16, Gloria was out on her own working two jobs to support herself and finish high school. After graduating, she volunteered at the USO during the Vietnam War and later as a medical assistant. Eventually she found herself traveling around the United States and decided to settle down in Las Vegas, Nevada where she went to work in the casino industry. It was there that she met the love of her life, Donald, and was married for 32 years.

Wanting to be by her sister and family, Gloria and Donald moved to Needles, Calif. in 1999. She went to work for River Valley Air Conditioning an assistant secretary and worked for the company for 12 years, retiring at age 70.

Gloria was a loving, kind-hearted and caring person that loved traveling and doing things with the family. Gloria never met a stranger. She was always anxious to start a conversation with anyone she came into contact with. After a few short words, they would become instant friends. She enjoyed riding rolling coasters, decorating and selling cakes and beaches, anything near the water. At Christmas time, she enjoyed decorating her tree with the Christmas bulbs she had purchased from her many trips around the world. Working with crafts and giving them as gifts was another one of her enjoyments. She never forgot to text a friend or family member to wish them a Happy Birthday or a Happy Holiday.

Gloria is survived by her loving husband, Donald; stepmother, Polly Bearden; sister, Anita Kramer and her husband Don Kramer; half sister, Shirley Schooley; half-brothers, Cliff Bearden, Stewart Ross, Danny Ross, and Roger Ross and his wife, Janice; nephews, Tiger Kramer and his wife Kelly and Deron Kramer and his wife Sabrina; great-nieces, Desiree, Danielle, and Haley; great-nephews, Donnie, Dalton, Dyla, and Ryan; and great-great- nephews, Zayden and Ryder.

Services for Gloria will be at 9:00a.m. on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at the Grace Lutheran Church, 1605 Washington Street in Needles, California.

Interment will follow at Needles Riverview Cemetery.
