Robert Starr Welke, age 66, son of Robert and Anna Jean Starr Welke of Ames, Iowa, passed away suddenly at his home in Bullhead City, Arizona.
Bob graduated in 1968 from Aragon High School, San Mateo, and later from San Mateo City College. He retired from the US Postal Service after more than 30 years. Bob continued to study criminology and teach safe driving to seniors for AARP. He enjoyed photography, panning for gold, rock collecting and target shooting with friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Janice Lou Welke (Sampson).
Bob is survived by his niece, Natalyn (Sampson) Bergman, her husband Tom and children Brad, Ashley and Ryan.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
