Today is our baby's 8th birthday, and my heart is breaking for him. He will never get another Happy Birthday hug, kiss, call, or anything from his Daddy. I will make sure he knows you are the air that helps him blow out his candles ever single year from here on out. I will tell him it's okay!! Because now you never have to miss another birthday!, you are here!, alive in every ounce of his being. I will alway whisper "Daddy loves you too" in his ear. You may be gone, but in our hearts you will always remain!

I still am having a hard time believing that you are gone Shane!!  :(  I gotta say.... You are the first person besides family that I was, (id like to think anyhow) close with!!  And I don't like it!!  Thoughts and prayers go out to your loved ones, and my heart aches for their loss!!  Too soon, is what i say, for you to have been called home.... You will be missed dearly!!

Shane was a brother from another mother, he was always along for the ride and was always there. I will miss his smiling face and his little chuckle when he'd get embarrassed. You're such a great person,  wonderful dad, sweet friend, and a dear brother of mine.  I love you big guy and I'll see you one day again. ❤

I never thought in a million years that I would be writing in your guest book to your obituary. SHANE, you were and are and will forever be my BEST FRIEND! 23 years of having the joy, laughter, jokes, tears, movie watching, road trips, late night conversations, Disneyland, ice cream eating, early morning beach visits, partying time. I LOVE YOU so much BESTIE. My heart is broken and empty. But I thank the good Lord for blessing me with you for whatever short time you were giving. MATTOX family I'm here for you all and love you all.  thank you for allowing me to be apart of your family. RIP MY BUTTHEAD, I'LL LOVE YOU for ETERNITY!!!

Our thoughts, prayers and love are with Nick, Sue, Jesse, Tiffany, as well as the rest of the Mattox family and friends. May you all find comfort and peace in this difficult time.

It was a joy to know you for the past 2 years. You were a wonderful man, with a pure soul. Now, you wont miss those boys everyday. You just have to look down and you can see them whenever you want.

Shane...  You were in our lives for such a short time...  but in that time I proudly called you my son-in-law.  Watching you and Tiffany together, how you loved each other, how you teased and joked around laughing with each other.  How you treated my grandkids, with love, kindness, a firm hand with in a velvet glove.  Never raising your voice.  Seeing this, pleased my heart so.  You will forever be in all of our hearts Shane.
