Sophie was born October 10, 1955 in Needles, Calif., and attended Needles High School. She was a Tribal Gaming Officer at Spirit Mountain Casino in Mohave Valley, Ariz.,
She was preceded in death by her father, Geronimo Medrano, her mother, Bernice Armstrong; and sister Laurabelle McCord.
Sophie is survived by her son Stephen Lopez II ; three daughters, Erin Lopez, Alana Lopez, and Angela McDonald;three brothers, David, Ruben and Augustine Medrano;two sisters, Wilma Smith and Connie Bryan; six grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. (AZ time) in Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Mohave Valley Assembly of God Church, 2020 E. Regents Road, Mohave Valley, Ariz.
Following the service, the family will be going to Ft. Mojave Mourning Hall. 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 29, 2012 the Traditional Ft. Mojave Tribul Burial will take place.
