Susan Arline Gateley

Susan was born on December 20, 1953 in Chicago, IL to Charles and Mollie Samples. Her family relocated to Arizona in the late 50s, where she grew up and built a life for herself.

She was deeply passionate about her career at Motorola, yet she always knew her true purpose in life was to be a mother. In 1984, her dreams began to take shape when she met and married her husband, Randy Gateley. They shared 41 years of love and devotion while raising their children, Rick and Jennie.

Susan’s faith was the foundation of her life and her guiding light. She loved her church deeply, and it shaped her compassion, her kindness, and the way she cared for others.

Susan was a devoted mother, a role she cherished more than anything else, and was a proud wife of a DPS officer. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as crafting, reading, spending time with friends, and cuddling with her beloved dog, Fluffie.

She is survived by her husband, Randy Gateley; her children, Rick Gateley and Jennie (Martin) Inzunza; her brother, Randy Samples; her nephew, Zack Samples; her daughter in law, Kayla Moore; and her granddaughter, Natalie Moore.
