Born on July 2, 1958, in South Bend, Indiana, Terry was a beacon of kindness and joy, known for his quick wit and playful spirit. Terry was the cherished son of Leonard and Audrey Rosemond Schmanski, both of whom preceded him in death, along with his dear sister Janice Rae Neid Schmanski, and his nephew Adam Cole Schmanski. He is survived by his devoted wife of 27 years, Elizabeth Dolan-Schmanski, lovingly known as Liz, and their daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Schmanski, who was the light of his life. Terry is also survived by his brothers, Leonard Schmanski Jr. (Ramona) and Larry Schmanski (Tracy); his niece, Pam Mummy (Jay), and his nephews; Dylan J. Schmanski and Jeremy Schmanski (Katie).
Terry's journey with Liz began in Torrance, California, where they met in 1987. Their love story took them to Las Vegas, where they exchanged vows on March 6, 1999. The following year, their joy multiplied with the birth of their daughter, Sarah, in October 2000. In 2001, they found their home in Bullhead City, Arizona, where Terry's laughter and love continued to brighten their lives. He attended Holy Cross Grade School and La Salle High School in South Bend, Indiana. A proud veteran, Terry served in the Army Corp of Engineers for two years in the mid-1970s, embodying the spirit of duty and honor. His career spanned several decades, starting in security at Old Town Mall in California and eventually leading the maintenance department. After relocating to Bullhead City, Terry applied his skills at the Pioneer and the Pink Flamingo casinos in Laughlin. He concluded his professional journey at Western Arizona Regional Medical Center, retiring in December 2025 after more than 20 years of dedicated service.
Terry's life was enriched by his love for the outdoors and his deep affection for his canine companions, Rufus, Max, Chewy and Myia. Known for being a prankster, Terry's humor was a source of joy for both his colleagues and family. His kindheartedness and zest for life left a lasting impact on everyone he met.
A celebration of Terry's life will be held on Sunday, July 26, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the River Chapel Assembly of God, located at 805 Marina Blvd, Bullhead City, AZ. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Western Arizona Regional Medical Center for the compassion and care they provided during Terry's final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made in Terry's memory to a charity of your choice. Terry Schmanski's legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will forever be cherished by those who knew him. His memory will remain a guiding light in the hearts of his family and friends.
