

EDNA LEE HORNER SMITH, age 76 of Mohawk passed away on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Laughlin Memorial Hospital. She was a co-owner of S&S Millwright. She attended Bethel Assembly Church as her health permitted. She was an avid dirt track racing fan. and was a charter member of the Mohawk Ruritan Club. Mrs. Smith was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother and will be missed dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kyle “Red” Smith; parents, Carmel and Blanche Horner and grandson, Preston Scott Smith. She is survived by her children, Sandy Waye and husband Bob, Kylene Herron and Kyle “Scott” Smith and wife Sherry all of Mohawk. Grandchildren, Dustin and Melaine Waye, Jonathan Stepp and fiancé Carrie Russell, Josh and Meggan Stepp, Shannon Smith and fiancé David Holzerman all of Mohawk; great-grandchildren, Dravin and Deegan Waye of Mohawk; sister, Imogene Gulley and husband George of Bulls Gap; brothers, Charles Horner of Bulls Gap, Thomas Ewell Horner of Dayton, OH and James Randolph Horner of Mohawk; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Special friends, Aline Shipley and Autumn Hoffman and her loving dog, Lacy.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 in the chapel of Bulls Gap Funeral Home with the Rev. Brian Southerland officiating. Family and friends will meet at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday, June 10, 2012 in Smith Family Cemetery for a 10:00 a.m. graveside service. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be: J.D. Ashley, Lash Walker, Gerry “Squirrell” Voiles, Michael Park, Coy Jordan, David Holzerman, Allen “Big Al” Long and James ”Tub” Voiles. Arrangements by Bulls Gap Funeral Home in Bulls Gap, Tennessee.
