Kathryn E. Chipps

Kathryn E. Chipps, age 71, of Bulls Gap, died at home on Wednesday, December 14, 2011 after a brief battle with cancer. She was born November 10, 1940 in North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Shepard and Livie Strickland. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth W. Chipps Sr.; brothers, Mack Strickland and Shepard Strickland; sisters, Annie Sellers and Leona Sellars.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth W. Chipps Jr. and wife, Devonia; daughter, Sylvia Yunus and husband, Kenneth; grandchildren, Crystal McInturff of Greeneville, Tabitha Evans of NC, Joe Brown o f Bulls Gap; great-grandchildren, Kyra and Mason McInturff, Lindsi Evans; brother, Wilson Strickland of NC; and several nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 17th at 2:00 p.m. at Community Baptist Church on Wheeler Road in Bulls Gap. Pastor Greg Douthat will officiate.
