A.Robert (Bob) Flynn died of coronary failure in Burbank, CA on February 11, 2016, at the age of 56. Born July 29, 1959 in Bridgeport, CT, he was the beloved son of the late William and Mary Flynn. Bob graduated from Trumbull High School, and attended Pace University and the University of Bridgeport, before moving to San Diego. Bob remained in Southern California, settling in Burbank in 1991, where he remained for the rest of his life. He worked for the LA Times and then moved into market research, working as a data tabulator and programmer for both DRI Research and C.A. Walker Research Associates.
Bob married Kathy Murphy on July 5, 1992 in Las Vegas, NV. They were married for 16 years. Bob is survived and will be dearly missed by his son, Brennan, his stepdaughter, Angie (TJ Bronson), his grandson Charlie, his ex-wife Kathy, 11 brothers and sisters, and countless nieces and nephews, as well as his close friends Paul Stolberg II and Paul Coleman.
Bob enjoyed following politics and an occasional heated debate with his siblings and his late father. He was a dedicated baseball fan and was known as the family baseball statistician. Staying true to his north- east roots, Bob was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and Bruce Springsteen.
Bob supported his son Brennan’s passion for theatre arts, and often volunteered his time at the John Burroughs High School Theater and Tech productions. He was extremely proud of his children and loved being a dad. Bob relished his new role of grandpa to little Charlie. His friends and family will remember Bob as a kind, considerate man, with a dry wit and inventive sense of humor. A memorial service for Bob will be held on Sunday, February 28th at 2pm at the Mineral Wells Picnic area in Griffith Park, Burbank, CA. A memorial service is being planned for April 2nd in Connecticut. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the ACLU.
