OBITUARY
Albert Kenneth Peppi
May 6, 1935 – November 9, 2017
Albert Peppi, of Burbank, CA, passed away on November 9 at home with his family by his side.
Born in Bakersfield, CA, he was the son of the late Julio (Joe) and Petra Pippi. Albert is survived by his wife of 54 years Clara Peppi, daughters Kimberly Peppi-Kuenn and Theresa Vargas, sons in-law Tim Kuenn and Chad Vargas, grandchildren Katelyn, Jeremy and Aaron Vargas, as well as many nephews, nieces and in-laws. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Louis, Julio and Ernest and sisters Mary, Penny and Frances. He is survived by his sister Julia.
Albert loved his country and was a proud Veteran. He served in the Army, 4th Infantry/22nd Regiment in Germany. One of his favorite songs was Merle Haggard's "The Fightin Side of Me". After returning home from the service, Albert was employed at Loral/Librascope for 30+ years as a machinist working on fire control systems for submarines.
Albert was active in the Burbank community. He coached both of his daughters' softball and basketball teams ("The Ragamuffins" and "The Trojanettes"), as well as many of his "adopted kids". Albert also enjoyed coaching and watching his grandson AJ play football and basketball. Albert was recognized for his dedication to the Burbank youth by being inducted into the Burbank Athletics Walk of Fame in October 2010.
Albert loved to golf and was a member of the DeBell Men’s Golf Club in Burbank. If you did not run into him at Dad's Donuts, you would more than likely find him at the golf course or driving range.
Albert was also a devoted fan of the California Angels (would never call them the Los Angeles Angels) and the USC Trojans. He enjoyed watching them on TV and always looked forward to tailgating with his family and friends at USC football games.
Albert's funeral service is Friday, November 24 at 1:30 PM at Christ Lutheran Church in Burbank. Graveside service will follow at Forest Lawn, Hollywood Hills at 3pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Burbank Magnolia Park Optimist Club, a local youth orientated organization Albert loved to support:

Al had such a positive effect on me as a young, not-very-athletic girl attempting to play softball...he was a gifted coach and a warm, wonderful human being. He will be missed by many. My condolences to his family, who were lucky enough to have him as a husband and father.
