She was born in Huntington Park, CA on June 22, 1924, parents Louise Mary Emerson and Chester France Bates. Betty graduated from Burbank High School with honors.
Betty worked as Radiology secretary at St. Joseph Hospital in Burbank and later as medical secretary at Kaiser Permanente in West Hollywood. She was an avid animal activist and supported many animal rescue organizations.
Betty is survived by her sister, Lolly Cassara of Lincoln, CA; as well as three nieces, Michelle Burgess and Stephanie Burgess both of Port St. Lucie, FL; and Debra Leeder of West Palm Beach FL; and a nephew, Frank Cassara of Alamo, CA.
Betty will be greatly missed by her family and many friends and neighbors.
