I would make it a point to visit her every so often to see how she was doing.  I remember telling her:  I don't care how small of a favor it is, or how big:  Call me if you need something.  A sofa moved, trash emptied, ANYTHING.  But if you know Mrs Davis, you know that she was a "do'er".  She had strength and character.  She has my lifelong loyalty.  I really could tell a thousand stories about her and how she made me a better parent in how she treated us.  This one hurts.  Truly a wonderful woman.  I'm glad I was able to know her.  I always miss her, but I miss her more now.  The good thing is I can still hear her voice in my head.  And I can see her in Danielle's face.  So if I look at you for a second too long now Danielle, I'm looking for Mrs Davis.  🌹

One time, Mrs Davis showed her grit and care for us by standing her ground in our defense against other residents who were reluctant to let us swim there.  I remember it like it was yesterday.  That's when I said to myself:  I love that lady.  She had a power in her voice that wasn't loud, but soothing.  She gave it to us straight.  And she had EVERYONE'S admiration and respect across the street.  Some of us even wished we had a mother like her.  We all knew that we could trust her to be fair with us.  The way she would call me "honey" sometimes, it warmed my heart.  I can still hear her voice in my head.

I often had this view of the place while waiting for Megan and/or Danielle.  I remember coming to get a 3 or 4 year old Vanessa to take her trick or treating.  When we were kids, Mrs. Davis would often invite us in, or come outside to chit chat with us.  She was so kind to us from the apartments across the street.  She made sure we felt welcomed there.

If you know me you know how much I love my grandparents but also how much I cherish them. My grandma always told my siblings and I how lucky she was to be our grandma but every single time she said it I thought to myself she doesn’t even know that it’s HER we were so lucky to have if you were to ask me to describe her in one word i would say magical she made my life sooo magical from birthdays to holidays to Disney trips and to sleepovers at grandmas house 🩷. Now that I am a mother myself to a baby girl I often catch myself trying to be just as magical as my grandma was for me and I often get told how “extra” I am but I swear if you guys had the honor to meet her she just as extra 🥹🤣 , I wish that I was able to have more conversations with you and more advice on how you did it all and did it with so much happiness and strength . I always get told that im strong and brave and you’re the reason why , everything I’ve seen you go through and you’ve always pushed through it how can I not when I have you to look up to ? I’m going to miss you so much it makes me so sad 😞 I wish I could have kept you here forever grandma I just know you would’ve been analayah’s favorite person ever because you were everyones especially mine I will always try my hardest to carry your traditions on and be the most magical mommy for analayah so she can have a idea of just how magical you made my life and until than I just know you’ll be watching over us and her saving her the most beautiful baby dolls anyone can ask for I love you soooooo much and I am the one who is the most luckies girl in the world to have you as my grandma 👵❤️👯‍♀️

My mom was the most beautiful person she touched so many lives she was a barber for many years love by so many so much so that when she retired many of her clients came to her house for haircuts still but honestly the best part of her was being a grandma she was the most amazing lady she loved her family my dad with all of her heart
