Clinton, Marilyn Louise Dodge. On Monday, October 19, 2015, Marilyn grew tired, so God put his arms around her and whispered “Come with Me”; she passed peacefully surrounded by family members. Marilyn was born in 1938 in Pennsylvania, the first born of Richard Bartlett and Mary Elizabeth (Churchill) Dodge. While the family moved many times during WW II, Marilyn spent most of her youth growing up in Jackson, Mississippi. She graduated from Provine High School in Jackson and attended Auburn University where she met and married her husband of 58 years, James Robert Clinton. As a young mother she navigated several family moves before the family moved to Altadena, California in 1979. After her kids left home, she began working in the School of World Mission at Fuller Seminary using her administrative gifts and relational abilities to work with people, literally from all over the world. During this time, she also managed to take classes and finish her degree, a Master of Theology in 1989. In 1994 she was named Director of Operations at the School of World Mission and remained in that position until her retirement in 1999. She faithfully attended the Marina Del Rey Class in her church, First Nazarene of Pasadena. Marilyn is survived by her husband James Robert Clinton, her children, Cathryn Clinton and her husband Robert Rozzi, Reading, Pennsylvania; Richard Clinton and wife his Lora, Monument, Colorado; Christine Cervantes of Temple City; and Jeffery Clinton and his wife Leslie, Roanoke, Virginia. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Richard Bartlett Dodge, Jr., Houston, TX. The family would like to thank the skilled caregivers for helping us with her care at home in the last weeks of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations in honor of Marilyn should be sent to the Clinton Leadership Scholarship which helps students that Marilyn had worked with. Send checks made out to Fuller Theological Seminary, Acct. #2712. Send to Fuller Theological Seminary, Attn: Development Office, 135 N. Oakland Ave., Pasadena, CA 91182.
