
On July 14, 2025 Mike passed away at his home in Los Angeles. Mike was born and raised in Glendale, CA. A 1962 graduate of Glendale High School Mike went on to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and Pomona. Mike served in the Army from 1968 to 1970. Upon returning to Glendale he met and subsequently married his wife of 50 years Luci. Mike began his work life of independent entrepreneur by starting a business of selling barrels and barrel furniture, MAD Barrel Works. Mike was always creative and took on the task of building furniture from large wine and whiskey barrels as well as redwood tree slabs. After 7 years Mike and Luci moved their young family to Seattle for more opportunities. In 1978 Mike started an independent business doing small bath remodels he then moved on to develop the niche trade of residential exhaust ducting. The company, Ventron, that Mike started went on to become the leader in this trade for mid rise multifamily construction. After 40 years Mike and Luci sold Ventron and began their retirement.
Throughout his life Mike enjoyed road trips. He was always a So Cal boy at heart and returned frequently to his Glendale home and then purchased a home in Eagle Rock.
Mike’s surviving family include Luci and his 3 daughters Brenda Arson-Morton of Glendale, CA, Marcelle Rose of Seattle, and Julie Beard of Rancho Cucamonga. As well as sons in law Eugene Morton, Jordan Rose and Kevan Beard and his 5 grandchildren, Tyler Davis, Emma Beard, Leilah Beard, Matthew Beard and Aveline Baldwin.
Mike’s wishes were for no services and his ashes will be spread in the ocean off the coast of Lahaina.
