When I was a kid I fondly remember playing outside and watching my Tio Ralph come up the street for a visit.  He would greet us with open arms and a huge smile.  He just always looked happy.  He loved my abuelitas salsa.  He told me that abuelita used the whole pigs head to make Tamales, and there were eyes in there.  I couldn't eat Tamales for years after that... I remember him laughing because he was joking and I was traumatized. Hahahhaaa... My last phone call with him was around Christmas.  He said I love you mija and I know he meant it.  My heart is heavy but it's also happy.  I know he's in a better place with the woman he loved the most my Abuelita.  One day we will meet again.  And I know he will greet me with open arms and a huge smile. RIP Tio Ralph.

Just wanted to say goodbye tio Ralph. I will miss u. Because their will be no more phone calls and your presence and smile at our family functions. Through out the years, I have enjoyed seeing u everytime i could cuz you should me the love that family of course show. I will not feel too much sorrow because u will be reunited with my father my Nana minga and brothers and sister. I am lucky to have known u and I know u will be close by because I your memory will always be in my thoughts

I wish I had known him. But I do know his sister and if he was anything like her, he was a great guy. May he rest in peace.

Im at a loss for words, this all still feels unreal. It saddens  me that we were so far apart, but when we would see each other  it was like i never  left. I will forever love you Tio Ralph, greatest  uncle.  and when i watch  the spurs  game i will never forget  "soup time"
