My sincerest condolences to Richard's family and friends. He'll surely be missed by many but he touched many of us , so even though he's no longer with us we still have fond memories to hold onto. R.I.PEACEFUL SLUMBER my friend , we'll see you down the road.

I'm so sorry for your loss Nick and Irene, little Lucas, Brooks brothers, and Brooks family. I'm glad that I was able to meet Dick at-least once. He was very kind and lovely to talk to and I've heard many great stories about his life from Brian, Tammy, and Joe. He will live on in the memories of those that love him. May God welcome Dick into his kingdom and let him be with Grandma and Grandpa Brooks again. You're all in my prayers and I wish you strength and solace during this difficult time.

Your passing has brought back a lot of memories of us all growing up with the Brooks, Greenos,and Dumas on the Badore Rd. I still live on the same spot where we all grew up. All week long I can almost see you again up here doing what we all did back in the late 50's, 60's, and 70's, riding bikes,playing all kinds of games , playing army and building our clubhouse and sleeping in it. We had many thanksgivings,Christmases and birthday parties and special occasions together over the years with our extended family. Nick is a wonderful Father ,Son and I know you were proud of him as Rose and I are also. Lucas your Grandson will forever know his Gpa Dick thru pictures my(kids) all enjoyed being with you and my Grandsons.RIP my friend :-)

I met Richard (Smokin' Gun) on line at the Black Powder forum.  He had just taken it over from the previous moderator.  We had quite a few interesting conversations before I found out he was in Palmdale, where my fiance (wife now) owned a house.  We finally met in person and had several great outings at the shooting range.  My brother visited from Canada and the three of us went shooting....it was terrific.  Richard came to my wedding in 2009, out in Redlands, and we had a wonderful time.  Smokin' Gun was a terrific guy, and my wife, Sue and I will miss him greatly.

So many memories I'll never forget. Love and miss you cuz.  Kathy Rousell Burditt

I worked with Richard for a few years during his "Rocket Scientist" days. He would always lend a hand when needed and had some good stories for break time. RIP my buddy.
