

Robert “Bob” Charles Driffill, 66, of Burbank California went to see Jesus on Monday July 14th, 2014. He was born on October 4th, 1947 and was raised by the loving parents of John and Barbara Driffill. He grew up in Sacramento, California graduating from Mira Loma High School. Upon graduation he attended American River Community College on a baseball scholarship. He transferred to Azusa Pacific University and graduated with a degree in Psychology, Social Science, and History while playing outfield for the Cougars from 1968-1970. Following graduation in 1970, he got a job with the Glendale YMCA running the baseball program. He continued to work for the Y in different capacities and in due course was appointed Chairman in 1994 and instantly made youth education, both the support and programing as well as additional youth opportunities his number one priority.
He was quoted in the newspaper as saying, “To me, any touching moment is when somebody thanks you for touching their lives or touching the lives of their children.” After a long and fulfilling career, he retired in 2005. Still devoted to helping youth, as well as being involved with the activities of both of his sons, Bob became involved in California Amateur Hockey Association. He started as a team manager for his sons, and worked his way up to Club President, Board Member, Southern California President and California treasurer. He was actively involved in many community events and groups within and around the Glendale area.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Carol (Passon) Driffill of Glendale; children Hilary (Driffill) Stutzman of Hutchinson, KS, Brittany (Driffill) Leslie of Oakland, CA, Andrew Driffill of Honolulu, Hi, and Justin Driffill; parents John and Barbara Driffill of Sacramento, CA; siblings David and Connie Driffill of Colusa, CA, John and Maria Driffill of Mexicali, and Mike and Nancy Knee of Sacramento, CA. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service for friends and family will be held on July 19th at 2:00pm at the Crescenta Valley United Methodist Church, 2700 Montrose Ave, Montrose, CA 91020.
