

Trudy Marks slipped away peacefully on August 16, 2012 after a 5 week ordeal following a fall she suffered in her home on July 11. She is survived by her 2 sons, Stephen and David, 2 sisters, Stella Jerabek and Mildred Stark, and 5 grandchildren, Melissa, Shayna, Brandon, Allison and Madison.
Born Gertrude Mayer in New York City in 1926, Trudy moved to Southern California from Detroit, Mi. in 1943, to attend UCLA.
In 1963 Trudy was introduced to the teachings of Rudolf Steiner and the Anthroposophical Society and her life was transformed forever.
Following her retirement from the restaurant business in 1974, Trudy spent the rest of her life studying Anthroposophical beliefs and practicing it’s faith.
In 1982 Trudy moved from Los Angeles to Thousand Oaks, CA to be closer to her sons and spent much of her time as a companion to her very young grandchildren, while continuing her pursuit of enlightenment.
As a devoted Anthroposophist, Trudy made numerous lifelong friends, many of whom who offered tremendous emotional support and comfort to Trudy’s family during the last five weeks. And the family will be forever grateful for all the love.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday August 19, 2012 at 6:00PM at the Valley Funeral Home, 2121 W Burbank Bl., Burbank, Ca 91506
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
