Please join us in honoring the life of our daughter, Zoe Mae. While it breaks our hearts to have lost Zoe after only 18 days, we will treasure every moment we were lucky enough to spend with her. Being her parents has been the most amazing experience of our lives - we will miss her terribly.
Although Zoe spent her life in UCLA’s NICU, we were able to care for her as many parents care for their children at home. We fed her, bathed her, changed her, read to her, sang to her, held her - and loved her more than we can describe. Zoe had wonderfully long, brown hair and curious dark-blue eyes that she would stare at us with for hours while we held her. We shared with Zoe stories of us as a couple and the joy we had bringing her into the world. We wish we could have brought her home and shared more of our lives with her, and introduced you all to our wonderful, amazing baby girl.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in memory of Zoe to the National Marfan Foundation at https://secure.acceptiva.com/?cst=6bec90.
Zoe passed away on April 5, 2013 due to heart complications which stemmed from what we believe to be a connective tissue syndrome. It is extremely rare to see the degree of severity of these complications so early in a child’s life and we would like to support further research in this area. For more information about connective tissue syndromes, please visit the National Marfan Foundation website at http://www.marfan.org/marfan/.
