Alejandro Castillo Calub

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Alejandro (Alex) Calub, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, who danced his way through life with boundless joy and love. He passed peacefully on October 23, 2024, leaving a legacy that resonates in the hearts of all who knew him.

Alex was the devoted husband of Norma and a cherished father to his son Arlon (wife Kathryn) and daughter Alma (husband Matt). Nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family, and he was especially proud to be the doting grandfather of three beloved granddaughters; Rhys, Paige, and Alexa, each of whom adored their Lolo's/Gogo's infectious laugh, warm hugs, and playful spirit.

A professional baker by trade, Alex poured his creativity into every recipe, but it was his passion for ballroom dancing that truly reflected his joyful heart. Whether with his wife in his arms or surrounded by his family, he filled every room with laughter, love, and energy.

Beyond his baking and dancing, Alex found peace in his garden and fishing, sharing these simple joys with those he loved most. His memory will live on in each dance, each smile, and each moment of kindness he brought to our lives.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 4, 2024 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial Street, Burnaby, BC.

A Catholic service will be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, 2881 Main St, Vancouver, BC.
