

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, nonna, bis-nonna, and sister, Antonina Sciortino. Born on October 22, 1936, in Bagheria, Palermo, Italy. Antonina peacefully passed away on November 4, 2024, at the age of 88.
Antonina leaves behind her loving children Grazia, Ignazia (Alain), and Vincenzo, who will forever cherish her memory. She was a proud and devoted Nonna to her grandchildren Jacqueline, Tonia (Giuseppe), Vanessa (Christopher), Anthony (Kym), Gianluca, and Sawyer. Her great-grandchildren, Tristan, Francesco, Lucas, Gavin, Giulia, Zachary, Cadance, Massimo, and Parker, will forever hold a special place in her heart.
Antonina is also survived by her dear sister Maria (Isidoro), many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and a large extended family, both near and far. She was deeply loved by her many close friends. Antonina was predeceased by her beloved parents, Ignazia and Francesco Fontana, her son-in-law Giuseppe Maggiore, her nephew Emmanuele Valenti, her husband Giuseppe Sciortino, and her sister Giovanna Ferrante.
Prayers will be offered at Holy Cross Parish, 1450 Delta Avenue, Burnaby, on Thursday, November 28th, 2024, at 7:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Cross Parish on Friday, November 29th, 2024, at 10:30 AM, followed by an entombment at Ocean View Burial Park,
Grand Mausoleum.
