My Condolences to the Family

Tony was a proper East Vancouver Italian man, a great asset to Ikea where I met him as a colleague.  Businesses rely on guys like Tony who get things done.  Tony was highly valued, a go to person for many Ikea store openings where he would receive all the product and set up the warehouse.   Many project managers were lucky to have Tony running the loading dock with accuracy and efficiency.
Tony had his own sly sense of humor, with old school toughness that demanded respect for his role, his work and his team.  He led by example and was a quiet mentor to many of his colleagues.   Those who were lucky enough to work with him will miss him as much as his family and friends.  RIP to a diamond of a colleague.

So sad to hear of Tony’s passing. I worked with him at Ikea  in the warehouse & I could always count on him to get the job done everyday - he was always helpful & kept me in the loop which made my job so much easier. He always had good stories to tell.  Heartfelt condolences to his whole family.

Kathy, Angela, Laura and Gina. I have such fond memories of your Dad. He always had a smile on his face and a twinkle in his eyes. He adored his family. May you find comfort in the love you shared. Our thoughts are with you at this difficult time. Leo and I send big hugs your way.

My earliest memory of Tony was when he was riding his bike around the neigbourhood at Salisbury and Gavely.  He wanted to hang out with his older brother Joe and the rest of us, but we wouldn’t have any of it.  I laugh, every time I hear the song Groovin, by the Loving Spoonful, because Tony would ride his J-Bar bike around singing out loud, the words “Doolin, on a Sunday afternoon”. No idea how he got those lyrics.
Anyway, we eventually let him hang out and the rest is history.
Rest in peace old friend.

I am so sorry to hear about Tony. He was truly one of the nice ones. I always enjoyed time with him talking about cars and him reminiscing about his family and growing up in Vancouver.

I worked with Tony for many years at Ikea in Richmond. Tony was very beneficial at getting product into the building. He made me laugh continuously with his funny stories and our crazy day to day antics. We were very lucky to have Tony as our lead hand on what he would call…“His” loading dock . Yes he definitely owned it as he worked hard.
