Antonio is survived by his wife, Irma; children, Elio (Diana) and Bruno (Lina) all of Burnaby; siblings, Gilda D’aguanno; grandchildren, Danielle, Stephanie, Andrea, Cayla, Alisa, Julia, Matthew; great grandchildren, Sean, Isobel, Luca; and his many in laws, nieces and nephews, in Canada and Italy. He is preceded in death by his sister Maria Roscilli of Cervaro, Frosinone, Italy.
Antonio was born on April 11, 1931 in Cervaro, Frosinone, Italy to Giuseppe and Angela. He married Irma Marrocco in 1953. After moving to Canada in 1958, Antonio began working for Canadian National Railway, and continued on to work for Davis Trading, Spear and Jackson, and National Cheese Company. The couple had two children, Elio and Bruno. His children remember him as a kind and gentle father and an innovative thinker.
Antonio had many talents. He loved to play the mandolin at family functions. His brother-in-law would accompany him with his guitar or accordion.
Antonio loved to help with renovations whether he was renovating his own home or helping with his sons’ homes or those of other family members, he was always there to help. There was no task that he would shy away from. He was a framer and drywaller, a plumber, an electrician, a roofer, and anything else he put his mind to. Antonio loved playing cards with his friends and did not need to be coaxed to have a game of bocce at the park. He was a member of the Italian Cultural Centre and was always available to attend the luncheons and bocce tournaments. Many summer Sundays were spent at the Italian picnics at local parks where he would have a chance to be with his friends and family.
Antonio and his wife, Irma loved to travel. They enjoyed their many trips to Italy to reconnect with family and friends and their many bus trips to the USA and Mexico accompanied by their travelling buddies.
