Barry had a varied career with the RCMP that lasted 32 years, a distinguished career that took him from Regina, to Hudson’s Hope, to Prince George and finally to Vancouver. Barry served in various departments, holding different ranks and finally retiring at the rank of Staff Sergeant.
While stationed in Prince George, Barry learned to ski, a sport that took him to the hills of Whistler well into retirement. His love of hockey started in his youth with the Beausejour Beavers, another sport that took him into retirement with his buddies, playing with the “Schooners” and “Ol' Blues“. There were also long hours devoted to restoring his 1963 Plymouth Fury Convertible.
Barry was known for his kindness and generosity. He found it easy to make many long-term friends, all of which will have cherished memories of happy times shared and of the many stories, he had to tell.
Barry is survived by Dana his partner of 52 years and their family in Vancouver, his brother Neil (Sandra) and their family in Beausejour, Manitoba.
