Ben is survived by his adoring wife Maureen, sons Terry, Greg (Laura), three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Donna, niece and nephew and many friends and family who loved him.
In Ben's path of life he was many things...a house builder, joining his father and brother Gary in building many homes around South Vancouver; a heavy duty mechanic; a teacher of Industrial First Aid; eventually becoming the Human Resource Manager of Ocean Construction Supplies and Construction Aggregates, along with being the chief negotiator for the companies involving several large unions.
Ben was gifted with many talents, amongst which he was an award-winning violinist, later forming a three-piece band playing the beautiful bass his grandfather built for him. He was a patient man, kind and humble with a quick sense of humour and a sparkle in his blue eyes inviting one to engage.
Ben and Maureen were fortunate to travel widely, touring on land and cruising to places afar. They particularly loved the Big Island of Hawaii and spent time there each year.
Prior to Ben's passing, he suffered greatly for several years - never complaining and grateful for the wonderful care given by the staff at The Cottage.
No formal funeral service will be held. Rather a Celebration of Ben's Life on Friday, September 9, 2022 at 2PM held at Lake Pointe Villas Clubhouse, 31450 Spur Avenue, Abbotsford, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a cause or charity of one's choice in Ben's memory.
