Beniamino Mastropieri

March 11, 1930 - August 2, 2025

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Beniamino Mastropieri who left us peacefully with the love of his family surrounding him.

For 67 years, he shared a beautiful marriage with his wife Maria. Together they built a loving family filled with tradition and many wonderful memories. His children meant everything to him. Ben was a devoted father to Anna (Terry), Lina (Pete), Aldo (Cathy) and Olga (Spencer.) He was the proud nonno of Nicolas, Gabriel, Lucas, Sofia, Alyssa, Lauren and Stella. They were the light of his life.

An amazing man, husband, father and nonno; Ben was the patriarch, leader and mentor for our family and to so many other lives he touched. He was the heart and soul of the family.

Our dad left his small town of Orsara di Puglia and immigrated to Canada in 1956 without his family in hopes of building a secure foundation for them to join. The journey was not easy, yet his perseverance was unwavering. He knew that Canada could offer a better life for his parents and siblings.

Predeceased by his parents Matteo and Anna, siblings Antonietta, Amelia and Mario, he is survived by his sister Lucia and brothers Mike (Lucia) and Daniele.

He leaves behind so many cousins, nieces, nephews and paisani both in Canada and Italy who will miss him immensely.

Our father has left a beautiful legacy of hard work, commitment and integrity. His 95 years were filled with large family gatherings, adventures in travel, making wine and spending time in his precious garden.

A man of strong faith, it brings us comfort to know that he is with his Lord and at peace.

He will be forever loved and missed.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00am on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 555 Slocan Street, Vancouver. Entombment to follow at Ocean View Burial Park - South Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the BC Cancer Foundation or Heart and Stroke Foundation in Ben’s name.
