She met her future husband, Basil Lobo, while they were both working at the same company, Decca Records. They were married on April 29, 1961 at St. Raphael’s Church in Surbiton.
She and Basil welcomed their first son, Philip, in 1963. They welcomed their second son, Kevin, in 1965.
In 1966 Brenda and Basil moved to Vancouver, Canada from England with their two sons and their dog. They bought a house in Burnaby, BC, and Brenda continued to live on the same street for the remainder of her life. They welcomed their third son, Stephen, in 1968.
In 1986, after a long battle with cancer, her husband Basil passed away. Brenda adjusted, and supported her three sons alone, eventually helping all three to complete university degrees.
Kevin and Stephen were married. Brenda became a loving and proud grandmother to her four grandchildren, two in Oakville, Ontario, and two in Burnaby, BC, whom she saw often.
With her children grown up, she met someone through a friend, and they became companions, spending time together and traveling to different countries.
Brenda had a great enthusiasm for flowers, and kept a garden and took up flower arranging. She was a long-time parishioner of St. Francis de Sales Church in Burnaby.
In memory of Brenda, please consider a donation to ALSBC at https://alsbc.donordrive.com/InMemoryofBrendaLobo instead of flowers.
