November 8th 1940 November 4th 2018
Brenda was born in Cranbrook on November 08, 1940. The Lee Family ran the Ritz Café in Kimberley. Being the only “Chinese baby” who was raised in Kimberley at that time, Brenda was spoiled by all the cooks. One bought her a coat with his one month’s pay. After World War II, the Lee Family moved to Southern Alberta. Brenda went to el-hi and graduated high school from Lethbridge Collegiate Institute (LCI). Later she graduated as a Registered Laboratory Technologist in 1962 from the Edmonton General Hospital. Before she retired in the 1990’s, she worked at the Edmonton General Hospital, the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, and the Vancouver General Hospital (Cancer Clinic). Brenda’s passion was reading mystery novels. Brenda is survived by her brother Art (Liz), sister Shirley, nephews, Emerson (Sue) and Garrett (Tareyn), niece Kendra, and Grandnieces, Lyric Lana and Kiaori Ailani. Brenda’s parents, Viola Shirley (MAH Gim-Gee金枝) (July 25, 1922 February 07, 2007) and Wilson John (LEE Suey Ton 李瑞东) (February 09, 1919 February 21, 1992) predeceased Brenda.
