Bruno Soriano died on January 6th in Vancouver, BC, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s at the age of 81. Bruno is survived by his wife, Avelia; children, Nicolino, Stefano and Marco and his siblings, Nino (Vancouver), Antonio and Giannino (Brazil) and Ercole and Romilde (Italy).
Bruno was born on March 4, 1937 in Tavenna, Italy to Nicolino Soriano and Teresa D’Ortona. He married his wife Avelia in 1962. After moving to Vancouver in 1966, Bruno began working as a Carpenter. When not at his day job, Bruno was always working in the homes of his friends and family, helping in any way he could. All who knew Bruno remember him as a generous host with a wonderful sense of humor. Bruno was an amazing gardener and always sang beautifully while he worked. He was an active and dedicated member of the Italian Senior Citizen’s Club 50 and was their bingo caller for many years.
A funeral is scheduled for Tuesday January 22nd at 11:00am at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Father Gino will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Bruno's life. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to St. Jude’s Anglican Home at 810 W 27th Ave, Vancouver, BC.
