Carmelina Barata Filipe Batista

Carmelina was born April 30, 1948 in Pesinho, Portugal. She was predeceased by her loving parents Jose and Maria . She leaves to mourn her loving husband of 53 years Belarmino, daughter Isabel (Mark), grandchildren Marcus and Marissa, and her brothers Silvestre (Odete), Antonio (Carol) along with their families.

Carmelina was born on April 30, 1948, in a small town called Pesinho in Portugal. She was the second of three children and only daughter of José Filipe Ferreira and Maria Rafael Barata. In 1969, Carmelina married the love of her life, Belarmino, in Peso, Portugal. The following year, they had their first and only child Isabel. Three years later, in 1973, Carmelina and Belarmino immigrated to Vancouver, British Columbia to start a new chapter of their lives. Here she resided and enjoyed visiting her family in Portugal regularly. Together, Carmelina and Belarmino built a happy life and welcomed two grandchildren, Marcus and Marissa. They were the joys of her life. Later in life, Carmelina struggled through various health issues, but her resilience and incredible determination were unmatched.

Words can never express the heartbreaking emotions of her loss, but we will find strength and peace in our memories of her.
