Resided in Burnaby, B.C.
At just over five feet tall, Clare was small, but, mighty. Always speaking her mind, Clare loved a good conversation over a cup of hot tea, especially if it was about her two favourite topics – her beloved grandchildren and her hockey team, the Canucks.
Always seeking adventure, Clare moved to Canada from Liverpool in 1967. She continued her adventures, travelling all over the world, after retiring from the insurance industry in 1999. She loved trying new things and lived life to the fullest. In her golden years, she learned to speak Spanish, lawn bowl and play bridge, just to name a few.
A devout Catholic, she attended St. Mary’s Parish in Vancouver for more than 40 years where she made many friends and found deep meaning in her life. Always giving of her time, Clare volunteered at her church, Burnaby Hospital, and Fellburn Care Centre for many years – bringing a smile and laughter to everyone she met. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Clare is predeceased by her father, Reginald, mother, Catherine, and brothers, Barry (Josie) and Ernie.
She is survived by her brother, Reginald (Pat), son, Anton (Phi Dung), daughter Angela (David), her four grandchildren (the loves of her life) – Diego, Cecelia, Kaitlyn and Emily, and, many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.
Clare will be laid to rest at Forest Lawn Memorial in Burnaby in the coming weeks. Due to current restrictions, a celebration of life will take place when it is safe for all her family and friends, from far and wide, to come together and celebrate our Clare.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Clare’s memory to the Canadian Kidney Foundation.
