December 28, 1964 - November 15, 2010
The youngest of 4 children, Daryl was born on December 28, 1964 to Mr. and Mrs. Leong Chuen Lee in Macau. At 7 years old, Daryl along with his two brothers and sister moved to Vancouver with their parents. Raised in the vibrant neighbourhood of Strathcona, Daryl's affable nature saw him through Strathcona Elementary and Britannia Secondary Schools with many friends. His winsome and easy-going personality made Daryl the guy with whom to grab a beer - or two. He was a great friend; gentle, encouraging, and supportive to all who knew him. And that smile: big and easy - it lit up a room - and warmed your heart whatever your mood.
Honest and loyal, Daryl quickly became a valued employee working in Vancouver's local casinos and was soon promoted to Casino Floor Manager. In 2008, seeking new opportunities, Daryl moved on and to date, has worked with the BC Liquor Distribution Board.
May came into Daryl's life twenty years ago - it changed his life forever. Inseparable since their first meeting, Daryl married the love of his life in 2000. Their shared life together would be a love affair undiminished by time.
After May, Daryl’s passion was for fishing. When he wasn’t fishing, he was smoking fish, if not that, freezing fish, and if not that, buying fishing gear, and if not that, talking about when he’s going fishing again. We believe that even today he is showing off that giant sockeye to his new found buddies in fishing heaven - with that same big, easy smile on his face. We miss you Daryl.
Daryl will be dearly missed by his family, relatives and friends. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3789 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby, BC on Thursday, November 25th, 2010 at 1:30 pm. A reception will follow in the Tea Room of the Funeral Home. Private cremation, West Coast Crematorium, Burnaby, BC.
