从小奶奶便跟我们讲许多我们黄氏家族的故事. 爷爷英年早逝后，独自抚养六个子女的艰辛与不易和社会变迁带来的动荡与苦难，常常让奶奶掉泪。但奶奶最牵挂的仍是二儿子乃强，儿行千里母担忧，因为家贫，乃强伯父早早便岀去当兵，49年时去了台湾，从此天各一方，有近四十年都断了音信，没法联系。我们都叫乃强伯父“台湾伯父“。在那疯狂的年代， 台湾伯父只是一个家谱上的代号，一个奶奶和家人剪不断的思念。

八十年代，我们断断续续有听到二伯的消息，也辗转万里通过美国转寄收到过二伯的信和照片，知道二伯成家了也有孩子。在那异常贫困的年代，二伯无私的帮助大陆的家人，让他们度过了许多难关。我也终生铭记我考上大学的那个夏天，他的慷慨支助得以让我有机会去上大学。

我只见过二伯俩次。第一次是带我父母从芝加哥飞去温哥华去见二伯和家人。分隔了近六十年没见过面的父亲和二伯都异常激动，他们也聊了许多家常往事。短短的几天相聚没法弥补兄弟之间六十年的隔离，但手足情深，他们都庆幸能在有生之年，能再见到一面。第二次是十年之后，过路停留温哥华，我带自己一家去看望了二伯父伯母。虽然只有俩次短暂的相见，我觉的和二伯一见如故。在二伯和其他伯父姑妈身上，我看到了一样的品质。不论生活有多么艰难，命运有多么坎坷，他们都坚忍不拔，默默地尽己所能，努力奋斗，只为家人开创一个美好的未来。他们都耿直，无私奉献，顾家，爱护自己的家人。战争让他们分离，但是隔不断血浓于水的骨肉情。

二个月前去西雅图，想去看看病中的二伯，但因故最终没有成行。没想到如今二伯已逝，这成了终生的遗憾。

愿二伯一路走好！愿天堂没有痛苦，也愿亲人们，爷爷奶奶，大伯，姑妈他们一家可以跟二伯再次团聚。

My grandfather was one of the strong men of yesteryear, whose soft-spoken nature and firmness of character mixed to make the most reliable anchor one could possibly have. He was, for me, such an anchor. And like an anchor, which leaves a deep imprint in the ground in which it sinks, I will never forget that gentle, loving influence. He will never be gone from my heart. Rest in peace, grandpa, let me carry you now, as you have carried me.

I hope this message finds you surrounded by strength and compassion during this difficult time. I am truly sorry to hear about the loss of your father and offer my heartfelt condolences.

I hope you find comfort in the wonderful memories you shared with your father.  Allow yourself to celebrate his life and when you're ready, look for the subtle signs of his presence in your life as a reminder that he will always be with you.

我親愛的爸爸,在6月4號, 已經擺脫病痛和擔憂, 到達快樂的天堂去了, 享耆壽93歲。雖然是滿滿的不捨, 但我今天要來慶祝父親豐富的一生。

爸爸曾經告訴我，”你爺爺說, 生孩子就像播一個火種, 多播幾個, 總會有一個旺起來”。爸爸是生於亂世中的一個小火星, 那顆火星16歲離開家, 後來飄洋過海到台灣, 僅僅帶著一支小皮箱, 憑著堅強與毅力，把這顆火星變成一個熊熊的火種, 越燒越旺, 又傳播了四隻火種。

爸爸從小兵, 到翻譯官, 到進出口業務經理; 從義烏老家, 到台灣, 到溫哥華, 爸爸傳播的火苗, 也越燒越旺, 越傳越多, 越遠。爸爸, 我和志謙傳下去的兩隻火種，都從事懸壺濟世, 救世濟人的職業, 所作的功德, 都將迴向給你。

爸爸不善於表達, 但他的愛, 像空氣一樣, 圍繞著我們; 像大海一樣, 承載著我們。無所不在, 無窮無盡。爸爸是一個平凡的人, 給予我們不平凡的愛。滋润了我們的生命, 让我們成长成为坚强的人。爸爸離去后, 他的愛與話語。將永遠在我耳邊迴盪, 脈搏中震動。

In the gentle embrace of June’s twilight, on the fourth day, my cherished father transcended the earthly realm of pain and strife, ascending to the celestial abode of joy, at the venerable age of ninety-three. Though my heart aches to release him, today I shall honor the tapestry of his life, rich and vibrant.

He once imparted to me a wisdom from his father: “To have children is akin to sowing seeds of fire; the more you sow, the greater the chance one will ignite.” Born amidst the tempests of change, that tender spark was but sixteen when he ventured forth from home. With unwavering resolve and tenacity, he transformed that nascent flame into a roaring inferno, its brilliance ever intensifying, casting forth four additional embers.

From a humble soldier to a skilled interpreter, then to a manager of import-export ventures. From YiWu’s embrace to Taiwan’s shores, and finally to Vancouver’s bustling streets. The embers my father scattered blazed with fervor, their glow reaching ever outward. Father, the two embers Zhiqian and I ignited burn with vivacity and purpose. Both have blossomed into healers of medicine, alleviating suffering and preserving life. Surely, the Lord must bestow upon you celestial accolades for this.

Though words were not his forte, his affection enveloped us like a gentle zephyr; it was as boundless as the sea, cradling us in its depths. His love was unremarkable in its ordinariness yet extraordinary in its depth. It nourished our existence, fostering our growth into resilient beings. In his absence, his love and words will resonate eternally within my soul.

Father, your essence will forever reside within our hearts; our love for you is eternal. Father, we are eternally grateful.
